The Carington Arms, Melton Mowbray

This is quite a decent looking pub and not bad inside too i visited here on the 20 March 2010 saturday afternoon but i thought the beer selection was a bit poor i had Banks's Bitter which was ok the other beers were Bass, Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen. The pub was fairly busy but in my opinion could do with at least one local micro beer on the bar.

This pub is on the banks of the river Tamar on the Devon and Cornwall border.A Union Jack is painted and emblazoned on the whole of front of the pub,recorded as painted in 1995 to mark the 50th anniversary of VE day.On the east side of the pub a gigantic mural which includes old customers alongside more famous names as Sir Francis Drake and Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

You can see from the new photos this pub has now been taken over by a new young management team and the drinks are some of the cheapest around. Food is traditional grills and quality steaks for around £14.95 which includes your chips and bits. Sky Tv is available so you can watch all the lions and twenty twenty matches. Dont bother with the old website as it is a bit dated and the new one I have listed will be on line soon. Staff are very friendly and the celler is well maintained. Real ale drinkers will have a great time here.
