The Black Horse, Market Harborough

Away from the madding crowd of the locks. This is the locals pub with quite a different character and clientele in situ. Two rooms, the main bar is ‘contemporary blue’ and a bit oppressive, the second room is lighter and nicer. There’s also a conservatory. Saucy postcards in the gents. Two cask on, Doom Bar (NBSS 3) and Pride (3) through sparklers (!). The USP here is the smashing beer garden with valley views which my group enjoyed. Whether I’d be tempted on a grey February day might be a different matter, however.
