Admiral Nelson, Market Harborough

The exterior of this side-street pub has been given a fresh look both outside and within the two-room interior featuring all the usual amenities. As a Wells & Co house, it was no surprise to find Anchorman on one of the three handpumps on the main part of the bar counter, with the Half the World Away amber ale as another Brewpoint beer and Bass as a guest. Later on, I also noted Tribute on another pair of handpumps around the corner. Friendly welcome.

A traditional two bar pub a short way from the main town and feeling quite the backstreet boozer with a chatty landlady to boot. Two Brewpoint beers plus Bass, I tried the Brewpoint Anchorman which was ok without being particularly notable in any way which seemed to be a theme in this town generally. A nice pub that would benefit from slightly more interesting beer but a worthy stop off all the same.
