Hingemakers Arms, Wigan

a very lively local where nothing quite seems to make sense. it's a traditional pub but was playing rave music. the bar staff were two elderly gentlemen but the clientele were mostly youngsters. it's a proud free house but seems to serve only boring national ales. but in any case it's a great example of an independent locals local that does what it wants and I did like it.

Community local owned and run by locals that has recently had a refurbishment with care taken to ensure that the pubs character was still retained.There is a good sized beer garden at the rear that was quite busy yesterday with a race meeting on at nearby Haydock Park.All the beers and lager are extremely good value with Wainwright's a steal at £2.50p a pint. Worth seeking out.
