The Dukes Head, Wokingham

Marston's pub that is situated on a busy mini roundabout. We had to take our lives in our hands to cross the junction to get to it. The pub was unexpectedly busy with after work drinkers. But all were drinking lager. The pub no longer stocks real ale. Keg options were Kronenbourg, Fosters, Stella Artois, Estrella Damm, Guinness, Revisionist Lager, Strongbow Cloudy Apple & Stowford Press. The front room was busy with the aforementioned drinkers, whilst a rear room was empty. But the lack of real ale was disappointing. The worst pub we encountered in Wokingham.

Basically laid out pub with a mix of seating through the main drinking area, to the side of this is a small informal dining area, another larger area to the rear for the same purposes, the plush red carpet from Quinnos 2010 visit is no longer so plush. The few customers present were friendly enough. Three handpumps on the bar offered a pedestrian choice of Hobgoblin,Brakespear Bitter and Breakspear Top Notch, the later was perfectly drinkable but I think the name was a little flattering. Ok here but nothing special.
