Weatherboarded country pub that is well to the south of Wokingham town centre and seemingly has a good reputation for food, judging by how busy it was on our weekday lunchtime visit. Almost everybody was there for food, with a full dining room and a full garden to the side of the pub. We saw only one drinker, who was sat at the front of the pub. As a Marston's pub, the beer range is limited. Brakspear Bitter is the regular ale. Guests were Marston's 61 Deep & Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold. Whilst there were plenty of young staff, service was a bit disorganised and prices are steep.

Completed a walk from here. It was in a nineties guide called Pub Walks in Berkshire. The lanes are now more like motorways and the walking was terrible. The pub itself was pretty decent. Mainly a restaurant but with a separate pubby bit. The food was high quality pub fodder. Had to send a photo home for vegetable identification purposes. Beers - Ringwood Razorback - was also in good condition. Good example of a country pub.
