The Swan, Thatcham

This large Marston's pub / restaurant / hotel seems quite attractive from the road, although the sizeable front beer garden was looking rather drab. The interior seems to have been chopped and changed at different times over the years, and the small 'library' seating area on the right-hand side behind the pool table retains a bit of character. With two of the three handpumps in use, I found Doom Bar and a very tired Ringwood Forty Niner (£5.65) being served, along with a reversed handmade clip for Dartmoor's Jail Ale.
