Heights of Alma, Sheerness

The Heights of Alma is located at the end of a residential street and unless one knew of its existence it probably wouldn’t be chanced upon. This is a compact pub with two bars from which standard draught and Bombardier can be purchased. I decided upon a pint of Bombardier, which was served by the friendly landlady, and a packet of ready salted to pop my 40p pickled egg into – Certainly hit the spot! I didn’t venture into the rear bar as there was a game of Kentish darts in progress, of which I know little as I prefer a board with some lipstick. The front bar was quiet with a couple of regulars who kept themselves to themselves. There is a plasma screen and Sky Sports is advertised, but it was switched off. The locals were a little suspicious of an ‘outsider’ walking in at 22:30, but I have found this is many pubs. I liked it in here and would return if in the area.
