Britannia Inn, Romney Marsh

After a long, cold walk along the sea-front, The Britannia came as a welcome break. The setting is odd - more shanty-town than the South Kent coast. The building is a shabby-looking 1960s cafe style structure with a restaurant area at the front through which you pass to get to the bar, which has a very strange and extensive collection of keyrings hanging across the ceiling. I had a very good fish and chips, and the beer - Sheps - was well kept and enjoyable. The bar staff were friendly, although conversation was stilted. The Brittania remains better than any of the other pubs between Dungeness and Greatstone and is recommended for a pint or two if visiting the area, but I'm not sure I'd come out all this way just to drink here.
