The Ship Inn, Rochester

The left hand side of the Ship Inn consists of a dance floor with DJ booth and the right hand side of the pub is where the L shaped bar is located. I didn’t spot any sports advertised and the two plasma screens were showing music videos when I visited just after lunch last Saturday. There were only four other customers and two of these were geezer birds that were playing the extremely loud quiz machine. I spotted an advertisement on the wall for the live entertainment that evening which was a drag act which isn’t my cup off tea to be honest. There were some newspapers on the bar that is stocked with standard draught products and the friendly barman served me a decent Guinness. Food is advertised outside, but I spotted no menus or chalk boards inside and nobody was eating. More up my street would be the weekly Monday night quiz, but I cannot see myself returning to this pub in future.
