The Bulls Head, Orpington

Fairly pleasant pub in the centre of the village of Pratt's Bottom and just opposite the village green. On arrival, it was clear that quite a bit was going on in the village. Apparently the activity was ITV people filming a documentary about some crime that had occurred in the area. They had hired out the pub's car park, but were at least giving the pub plenty of business. The main bar area is light and airy and was a nice place to relax after the rickety bus journey on the R10 from Cudham. Sharp's Doom Bar was once again the regular beer. Guests here were Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter & St Austell Tribute. Locals and staff all seemed like a friendly bunch. The barmaid gave me the pub's wifi code to enable me to plot my onward journey, as I had no mobile phone reception. The pub is a bit out of the way and whilst it's a nice village local, I can't see too many reasons to rush back.

Ex-Courage pub with unusual pediment signage above the main entrance. This leads to the central bar area, with dining room wings off to each side and another dining area up three steps at the back. Also has some outdoor seating on the front patio and plenty more in the rear beer garden. With three of the four handpumps in use, I found Tribute, Youngs Special and Harvey's (£4.50).
