The Pilot, Maidstone

The bar of the Pilot faces the entrance and supports six hand pumps that were drawing five brews from Harveys and Old Rosie cider. The draught is limited with only Carling, Grolsch, Stowford Press cider and Guinness being available, but the handful of locals present during a recent midweek afternoon visit only had eyes for the ale. There is a jukebox on the wall above a piano to the left of the bar and to the right is an inglenook complete with a roaring log fire that was much appreciated on the cold day I popped in. I noticed some seating at the rear of the pub, but I didn't have a proper nose. Live music is advertised for the weekends. I liked it in here and would have no problem returning.
