Busiest of the three Markyate options on a June Thursday evening, the horseshoe-shaped bar was thronged with regulars. This looks like it was possibly two rooms in a previous incarnation - an area to the left of the down a couple of steps with a main area to the front and right where the drinkers were congregated. There's an area up the right of the bar which houses a pool table and leads to a 'beer patio'. Beer-wise, an OK-ish McEwan's IPA came in at a mere £3.00 with the other option being Doom Bar.
