The Six Bells, St. Albans

Visited as a group from work, lunchtime job. Not too big a car park, but I suppose there were not too many cars about in the 1540's. The general consensus of opinion was good food, good service, and characteristic country village type pub. There were six beers on the pumps, including Copper Dragon Golden Pippin. A light refreshing ale, spot-on temperature, perfectly kept and served with a smile. Being lunchtime, I did not have the opportunity to try any of the others, but I will.

Very nice olde worlde low ceiling stone flagged pub in a very quaint part of Saint Albans and well worth the walk for both the ales and the food. Not a huge range of ales but the two of the five on that we tried were in top notch condition. Suspect this can get v busy of an evening with meal goers but our lunchtime visit was very pleasant and well worth the walk from the main railway station. There are plenty of stopping off points for a beer and a leak on the way back!
