The Orange Tree, Hitchin

The Orange Tree is a fairly large pub that is well away from the middle of Hitchin. The pub is a McMullens tied house so i thought thought well worth the walk. Once inside there is a largish single L shaped room with the bar facing,there is a part bare boarded,carpeted and stone floor,there is comfy bench seating with chairs and normal tables and chairs,plus some pew seats. There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of McMullens Country Bitter,which went down very well,the other real ales were McMullens 1827,IPA and a house beer Orange Tree. Food was being served and background music was playing. I like pubs like this,comfortable and having decent McMullens beers on the bar. Pub visited 17/6/2017
