The Woolpack, Hertford

I thought this place to be a little bland and apart from the nice paved beer garden out the back that runs alongside the river I thought that this was another unremarkable McMullens pub in Hertford. The barman was very friendly and the usual Mcmullen ale range was available along with a standard draught selection from which I was served a decent Guinness. There is a plasma screen in the bar area and another out the back, but these were showing an under 17s football game so they were muted and some inoffensive background music was playing. This pub was close to the end of my Hertford crawl so maybe my views of it are not the best due to me being sick of Mcmullen pubs by this stage. I’ll make a point of revisiting next time I’m in this area just to make sure I‘ve not reviewed it unfairly.
