Old coaching inn, still retaining some character externally, although the interior has been comprehensively remodelled and refurbished by Wetherspoon. However, this still has a semi-traditional look, including the mezzanine area above the main entrance. There was a mostly duplicated selection from the two banks of six handpumps, with Brill Gold, Dark Fruits Porter from Salem (£2.75), Vale's Electric Sheep and the Double Swan from Elgood in addition to the usual Greene King IPA, Doom Bar and Abbot.
