this pub has recently changed hands and we went for the new grill menu which we saw advertised in the local green book, what can I say the food was superb the service was excellent and the new landlord certainly knows how to please his customers well worth the trip out for the food and excellent ales and cheap house doubles. 25 Apr 2009 - Update - Went back after posting by Tanya [co -owner BTW], agreed it is much more friendly, and the beer mats have now gone from the rafters Food now on in burger / ploughman's / ham egg & chips, fish & chips way, reasonably priced under £5 from what I saw, not fine dining but good honest pub grub IMO Good range of real ales now available, but around £3 mark, but did have a special Invincible on at 2.80 Uprated to 3 stars from my original 2 Historical entry from 2008 Popped in here after the Campbell's bar visit It seems to be just a local boozer, friendly enough, rafters plastered with beer mats, usual range of beer, no sign of food but I may have missed it No pluses or minuses, just a local pub really

this pub has recently been taken over, now a much friendlier and livlier pub with a range of traditional pub sports, a very large child friendly beer garden, with pets corner, live music every saturday night, traditional and HOME COOKED food at very good prices. well worth a try
