Woodies at the Junction Inn, St Denys, Southampton

After leaving the hectic South Western up the road I found this place to be very sedate with only three other customers who were in a group. The pub is L-shaped with a long curved bar area with a curved counter that faces high tables along the exterior walls. To the right of the counter is a pool table and in the slightly raised black and white mosaic tiled open plan seating area at the rear is a dartboard. Out the back is a massive beer garden with a patio and large lawn with picnic tables and children’s climbing apparatus, I bet it’s busy here with young families during the summer months. Premium and mainstream craft keg were available from the polite barmaid who was sat behind the counter reading a book while I listened to the bravado BS from the other customers. Two of the three hand pumps were in operation drawing Hop Back’s Spring Zing and Vibrant Forest Brewery’s Otto, the latter being ok. I’d pop back in if passing, which isn’t likely.
