The Horsefair, Romsey

The erstwhile brewery tap for Strongs of Romsey, once a major regional brewery that fell to the long gone Whitbread Empire in 1969, now a Wadworths pub, who would have forecast that? Single bar with a plain drinking area with darts and machine at one end and a more relaxed area with a big screen and sofa at the other. Four pumps selling the Wadworths range; 6X, Horizon, Henrys and JCB plus a cider, lager and Wadworth’s own smooth. Friendly staff and customers, the punters are a bit younger than some Romsey pubs but this isn’t a creche. Pleasant decoration with ceiling beams covered in drinking steins and lots of pictures of old Romsey on the walls. There is often live music here which is always a bonus.
