The Red Lion, Pevensey

Seemingly still a Harvey's house, although there is no obvious branding these days. Anyway, it remains a traditional pub in a prominent position on the former A27, directly opposite the distinctive little church on the far side of the roundabout. Remodelled slightly at some stage, with the entrance moved round to the left-hand side. However, the three-part interior hasn't altered much, although you now enter through a lounge / dining area that has half of the L-shaped bar counter, with the remainder in the small central section that was once the entrance lobby. The more formal restaurant can then be found at the far end, and there are a few wooden tables out front. Live music and comedy events advertised. Just Sussex Best (£5.30) available from the three handpumps, although a reversed Olympia clip was also noted.
