It was very busy in here on Monday night last week as my visit coincided with the weekly Blues evening that seems to be very popular. My visit was during the interval so I didn’t get to hear any music, but on the plus side many of the other patrons were outside smoking so I had an easy time getting served. This is a Shepherd Neame pub so the usual draught of Oranjeboom and Holsten Export etc are available and four hand pumps are also present for drawing some SN ales. There is an extensive food menu and the mains came in around the £7 mark. This is not the biggest pub as it is quite thin, but it does stretch back a bit and I imagine it being quite comfortable when the hoards of music fans are not present. Wednesdays host an open mic night, but I’m not sure if it is as popular as the blues sessions. I’m not the biggest Neame fan, but I’d not have a problem returning here.
