The Crown, Biggleswade

Another Greene King pub that has made the 2023 Good Beer Guide. This pub in the village of Northill is very food-led. In fact, almost all of the tables were taken with people ordering Sunday lunches. So, we grabbed a couple of stools at the bar, which was a good opportunity to chat a little with the friendly bar staff who were discussing the merits of shorthand or long-hand food ordering. Apparently an order of f/c had caused some confusion with the chef who had assumed it was for fishcakes, when it was in fact for fish and chips! The pub enjoys a nice location between the village's church and pond. Real ales are IPA & Abbot.
