The Edinburgh, Brighton

3 real ale taps 2 on during my visit. Food served.

The Eddy is a long thin pub with a dark bar area at the front and small room at the rear that I found to be a bit grotty with event flyers on the walls and furniture that has seen better days. To be fair the bar area is nicer, but there was no comfortable seating when I visited even though the pub wasn’t really that busy. Three hand pumps can be found on the bar and these were drawing Harveys Best and Doom Bar with one being unused. There is also a standard draught selection alongside Stowford Press and Amstel and the Guinness was well poured by a very friendly barman. There are a couple of plasma screens for showing Sky Sports , but these were off due to no sport being on and some American folk like music was playing. Food is available at lunchtimes and during the evening in the week except for Monday when the kitchen is closed and at the weekend the kitchen is open from midday until 20:00. I wasn’t keen on seeing people eat at the bar whilst I tried to lean around them to handover my beer tokens. This isn’t a pub that I would actively seek out, but I’d have no problem popping in for another pint if passing.
