The Quadrant, Brighton

The Quadrant is a small ornately decorated traditional split level pub which is handily placed for a mid-shopping spree pint. The upper section is used for seating and the lower portion houses the bar which supports five hand pumps. During my recent early midweek evening visit these were drawing Thatchers Cask Cider, Dark Star’s Meltdown and Old Chestnut and W J King’s Brighton best and Autumn Mist. There is also a limited standard draught selection but I decided upon the Old Chestnut which was in excellent condition. The toilets are located down some very narrow stairs and there is a function room upstairs that is available for hire. I didn’t spot any televisions but there was some music playing in the background. The clientele ranged from students getting ready to hit the late bars of the area and fifty-somethings having a quick pint on the way home from work. I think that this is a pleasant enough pub and the barmaid was extremely friendly. I would have no problem returning for a couple more beers.
