The Quadrant, Brighton

Towards the end of an evening in Brighton and my note taking had become patchy. There was only on hand pump, and I must have pulled a face when I saw it was a branded Doom Bar one, but it turned out it was serving a Best Bitter from local Untapped Brewery. This was pretty decent (NBSS 3.5) and priced at £5.40/pint. I've been in here previously during the daytime, but that was four or five years ago, so maybe it's changed its vibe, because it seemed to be very much a young people's pub, and possibly a bit cliquey too. But this was just a snapshot impression. Date of Visit: 6th February 2024

A pub on two levels, with a couple of steps between the two; taps are shared between them as well. The sole handpump is on the upper part but is now used as a towel holder, so it's mainstream lager, Guinness or craft keg for the beer drinker. £7 (yes, really) got me an Unbarred Joosy, featuring plenty of head. Service is friendly and its dead central, but I'm not sure there's much more to commend it these days unless you're attending an event upstairs.
