Prince George, Brighton

The Prince George is an L-shaped pub with seating to the left along the front windows in an area with a fireplace. The bar is on the right hand wall and the pub stretches to the rear were there is a door leading to a heated patio garden which I did not visit. There was some sixties music playing in the background, but it was hardly uplifting and the Crying Game was playing as I walked in – probably the most depressing song ever written. I found the service to be friendly and although three hand pumps were unused there were still three in action and these were drawing Dark Star’s Winter Meltdown, Hepworth’s Sussex and Arundel’s Sussex Gold which was on good form. There was also a selection of draught products and this is a vegetarian pub so the menu has no meat products. I thought this place to be quite forgettable, but I suppose it is ok for a pint if passing.
