The Plough, Brighton

The Plough is a food led pub in Pyecombe, accessed from the busy A23. At the front of the pub is a small car park and outside the entrance are some picnic tables. I noted the presence of a dog bowl, but pooches are not permitted inside the pub. The interior consists of a bar area to the right and seating to the left that leads to a large conservatory dining area at the rear. Out the back is a beer garden with more picnic tables. There was no music playing and I didn’t spot any televisions. During my visit on Wednesday afternoon last week I was the only customer. The bar is stocked with limited standard keg alongside Staropramen. Two hand pumps were drawing Long Man Brewery’s Best and Long Blonde. I was driving so had half a coke for an eye watering £2.50, I expect that it is cheaper to buy beer which is very wrong! Gastro food is available, the burger costs £12. I found the service to be polite, but I will not be visiting here again just for a drink.
