The Good Companions is a big open plan pub with an island bar that is stocked with premium draught products. During my visit on Saturday evening three of the eight hand pumps were unused leaving Sussex Gold and Castle from Arundel Brewery and Hophead, Pale Ale and Partridge from Dark Star Brewery. There is an option for a beer bat which holds three third pint glasses and this sets one back £3.60 which is a little more than a pint. Food is served and the main dishes are priced around There are no televisions that I saw, but some loud music was playing that sat well for this pub on a Saturday night. Outside the front of the pub is lots of covered seating that benefit from some heaters. There is also a large beer garden out the back with lots of covered booths and another large covered seating area. There is also a hut that looks as though it is used as a bar in the summer months when the garden is probably very popular. I liked it in here and would have no problem returning.
