The Kings Arms, Wareham

A lovely looking terraced white painted brick cottage styled pub and eatery, with thatched roof and adorned with hanging baskets. In the GBG 2010, it has a large beer garden at the back and is also a live music venue. The interior has three rooms, to the left on entry is the bar, to the right is the lounge and at the rear is the dining area. I went in the bar, which is in white and beams, with stone floor and a big fireplace. The decor seems to be the same in the lounge, where some of the stone work is white-washed. There are some brasses and other bits of ephemera and various prints on the walls. There is also a dart board. I saw no Tv and there was no music. The service was good and the place was busy with a mixed clientele. I didn't eat here so i couldn't comment on that. Beer; tap stuff with Spitfire, Ringwood Bitter and a decent Exmoor Gold on handpull. It was an all too brief visit to this place, the last i did in Wareham and really i couldn't do it justice - all i could say was that i liked it and would return. A good place indeed.
