The Digby Tap, Sherborne

What a great pub! 4 ales on the bar, and not one of them Doom Bar (a pleasant surprise in this town). Breweries getting the nod here are Otter, Hop Back, Sambrooks and Woodshedding, who I presume are local. I was charged just £4.20 for my initial pint, which reinforced my initial positive impressions. Internally, you've got flagstone floors and a multitude of wooden tables across several rooms. There's a bit more space outside as well. I happily stayed for a couple before the 5 minute stroll to the station. If some of the folk in here could be dissuaded from playing noisy nonsense on their phones, it'd be even better.

Multi-roomed old pub with good range of beers and noted for food. Slightly disappointed as aiming a bit too much at the tourist market, but nonetheless well worth a visit. Cask Marque listed and regular Good Beer Guide entry.
