Located inches within the Leicestershire county boundary and, as the name suggests, near the wharf of the Welford arm of the GU canal which is at the rear of the building. The building looks interesting, like a turreted folly of some sort. ‘Round the... [more>] |

An interesting early nineteenth-century building with splendid (and hopefully unused) fortifications added later. Inside it is all traditional, with a small lower room out of use when we visited, and a larger bar up a couple of stairs, then a canteen... [more>] |
