The Siege of Orleans

The Siege of Orleans

CartertonOxfordshire

Recommended by Komakino .

A "micro alehouse" housed in a converted retail unit just off the main crossroads in central Carterton, that could be classed as a micropub, but perhaps not in that association's eyes, with piped music (Lighthouse Family, bizarrely), television (show... [more>]

This is arguably the best pub in St Annes. A decent variety of real ales on on my visit with 6 ales on and all different, from light to dark ales. Extensive descriptsions of the pub elsewhere. A good pub.

The Tally Ho

The Tally Ho

N12London (Greater)

Recommended by Quinno _

A Spoons located in a lovely old building abutting a junction, though sadly the interior is grubby and battered which lets it down – though on hearing that the place is on the JDW disposal list perhaps that explains why. It’s less open-plan than the ... [more>]
The Elephant Inn

The Elephant Inn

Recommended by Quinno _

Fuller's pub with a heritage factor, retaining a fair bit of old decor over its U shaped interior. This consists of pre-war wood panelling, stained and leaded dividers, doors and insets (PSM below captures it better than I). The right side of the pub... [more>]

Roadside McMullen house though they should baulk at how bad their beer was; Country Bitter was murky, IPA was vinegar. The one remaining AK was fair, at best. There’s a large interior with an island bar with the interior looking like it was last done... [more>]
Ye Olde Mitre Inne

Ye Olde Mitre Inne

BarnetLondon (Greater)

Recommended by Quinno _

Certainly lives up to the ‘Olde’ part of its name, this is a very aged former coaching inn with oodles of character. Two rooms back-to-back, slowly descending through to a pretty enclosed rear garden with plenty of flora and fauna. The main front bar... [more>]
The Black Horse

The Black Horse

A nice old building that abuts a junction. A modern, modish, rattly open-plan gastro interior in mushroom shades with an impressive beer garden out front (shame about the busy road!). Selection of papers and a small number of books, though whether yo... [more>]
