Well described by PSM, below, and our experience was similar.  We were discouraged from just having a drink due to the number of night time revellers  queuing to sit down and eat, so we thought we’d give the food a go. Food was chaotic, themeless and unappetising, and what they were offering as beer was nothing more than tasteless fizz.  Although it’s convenient for the Station, it really isn’t worth the bother.

Blessed with a perfect location on the Southbank, next to the Royal Festival Hall and just across from the Golden Jubilee Bridge, this is a branch of a popular restaurant chain with a rather vague Latin American theme. It's pretty much entirely set up as a restaurant, but outside of peak hours, there are some high tables under the side windows which can be used for those just wanting a drink, along with some limited outdoor seating. The bar is directly opposite the entrance and you can order and pay here before taking your drinks to your table, just like in a pub! The decor is pretty bright and colourful and as far as this sort of chain goes, I generally found it quite pleasant, although the rumbling of trains passing over the adjoining Hungerford Bridge was a distraction. Most people in here were eating from the confusing menu, which has Argentine steaks, Mexican tacos, Brazilian seafood and Caribbean chicken among other delicacies - we however declined to eat and just supped our drinks until we were told our table was now required by diners and would we please drink up as soon as possible.
The drinks menu majors on cocktails of course, but there are a few beer options including Brahma on draught and bottles of Corona and Estrella. I tried something called Rothhammer Nazca IPA - a Chilean beer that set me back £4.75 for a 300ml bottle that was almost entirely devoid of flavour. The cocktails looked nice though.
We dived in here more out of necessity than anything else and I have to say I would be highly reluctant to repeat the experience. The flavourless beer and uncomfortable seating in a restaurant area was bad enough, but having to then drink up quickly when we'd been told it was fine to sit there with just a drink was a bit much. This is best left as a last resort food stop for passing tourists - better drinking options can be found a short distance away from the river.
