Called in on Saturday early evening. In true micropub style, this is small with just the front room for seating and a fair bit of that taken up by the bar, leaving an L shape for customers. Five hand pulls at the end of the bar with one offering Hawkshead Pale and the rest offering stuff I had not heard of before. I had Pause by Front Row Brewing, a very pleasant chocolate stout, priced at £3.50 for a pint. Lined glasses were used so a full measure was guaranteed.

The single toilet is upstairs, though I didn't see any signs to prompt the customer so I did wonder if I was heading in the right direction at first. The door could do with trimming as it's a bit stiff and drags along the carpet on the landing.

We were in just before 6:30pm and it was already full, with all the tables occupied and a small group sat at the long edge of the bar on stools. Thankfully a couple exited as we had ordered so we managed to grab a table, otherwise we would have been left loitering awkwardly in front of the only bit of accessible bar (without stools).

There is plenty of CAMRA related reading material available for perusal if desired.

Once the two tables next to us started loudly discussing Boris Johnson, Brexit and the £350 million the NHS should be getting, we were glad to finish our drinks and leave. Probably a good place to go if you want to get pissed and talk bollocks with the locals but for us it was nice to try for one and leave when we did.

We found this micro to be very welcoming and it wasn't long before we were engaging in a good chat with the new owner Angela who had taken over the premises about ten weeks ago. She immediately changed the décor to cream and coffee coloured painted walls and pine furniture. Five pumps serving Phoenix Navvy, Weetwood Cheshire Cat, Charrington IPA, Titanic Mild and Greenfield One step beyond. There was also a choice of four ciders and perries. I went for the Greenfield , which was a good session beer. I agree with ROB Camra the stairs coming down from the loos is very steep and precarious.

A micropub converted from what was once a butchers. A comfy seating area at the front and some barstools are the seating options. It's a bit bare at the moment, but it is fairly new, so I'm sure it will mature with age. Loads of board games in one corner. 5 handpumps on the bar with 4 ales available. A slightly pedestrian ale selection with all the options being fairly local on my visit. Weetwood Maori Sidestep was very good, but Poynton Simcoe Red less so, although both were well kept. The trip up to the toilets involves a very steep staircase a bit of a hazard when coming down it later at night I would have thought. A decent enough micropub.
