Decent Spoons in former church building. Nicelty done and two outdoor spaces as well.

A fairly predictable Spoon's church conversion, with standard interiors arranged variously round the old building and a couple of glass and steel extensions to the sides. The bar is to the rear and seemed to have a fair range of decent ales. There are a couple of outdoor areas at the sides. Pleasant enough, albeit lacking an impressive centrepiece, and a nice escape from the bustle of the town.

As per Aqualung's review this was a nightclub that my Island friend I was visiting used to frequent in her younger years and hadn't been in since the conversion when we went the other day. Clearly a church conversion the entrance wasn't obvious when arriving in the pouring rain when the fire escape doors were open compared to the main entrance which has a glass frontage which was actually leaking and had wine buckets collecting whatever dropped from the leak points to the floor.

Separated into mainly two downstairs rooms with left room being large open plan within the church part of the building other areas appear to be extensions. The first floor is edged around the building giving open atrium style feel to it rather than creating two separate floors.

There is what could be classed as a third level near the toilets with some further seating and the raised area in the church seen in photos. Smoking area appears to be to the entry side of the building with the other side signed as none smoking which seems odd as it's the entrance.

Friendly staff and numerous pumps on although as a lager drinker noted no names.
