The immediate thought here is - is it a public bar? You need to go past reception to get to it but maybe it has always been that way - we were staying here and the receptionist confirmed it is open to members of the public, and with only one proper pub in town now that’s no bad thing. Feels pretty much unchanged since 1976, a little shabby but in a comfy way. Food served, which was decent. Three keg fonts and Guinness in a fridge – it isn’t an oasis of riches. On its own it is not a reason to leave the Ship, but it’s good to know it’s here.
