I was not really sure what part of Bristol i was in when i did this pub,i was doing an out and back circular route from Bath Road.
Once inside this is just like all of the other Grounded bars i have done,the bar faces in an oblong shaped room which is bare boarded.
There is wood bench seating,normal tables and chairs plus a couple of settees to the front right.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Batch # 3 Pale Ale,which was a decent enough drink.
The background music was crap.
I do not mind doing these type of pubs,just a shame they did not play some decent background music.

A recent addition to Sandy park Road in place of the short lived Toup that was there previously, this is now the fourth branch in the chain and is clearly very much influenced by the popular Loungers bars both in appearance and what is offered, although it does perhaps have even more of an emphasis on food and a consequently smaller range of drinks.
It is very much more of a cafe/bar type establishment rather than your traditional pub and it was at least 90% full with people eating on a recent Thursday evening visit and there was also a large cake display counter at one end of the bar (although admittedly these looked pretty good). There are wooden boards on the floor and the paintwork is mostly burgundy. There are a couple of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and large windows on two sides make the most of the views from it’s street corner position. A couple of old leather sofa’s were in one corner, but other than that it’s all regular tables and chairs, many of them quite tightly packed in.
Outside is a patio area wrapping around both sides of the pub, and there were a number of wooden tables here as well as plant troughs and such like. I didn’t inspect the menu but most of the food coming out appeared to be pizza’s. There were also a few specials chalked up on a board at one end.
As previously mentioned, beer choice was very limited with the only draught offering being Bath’s Gem. Even worse, there was no draught cider at all. This is a tricky one to mark. As a cafe/bar it’s fine, and I may even pop back and try the food. But this is a pub review website, and on the basis that it’s quite un-pub like, a low score is sadly inevitable.
