The Terrace has an L-shaped bar on the right wall that faces a beer shelf with stools along the front window and tables up the right. The exposed brick walls run into the rear which opens up to reveal booth seating up the left and a raised area in right rear with a mix of high and standard tables. This place is called the Terrace so I thought I should haul my fat arse up the stairs to have a look at the large decked terrace with different seating areas and another bar that has limited premium keg. I was surprised to see this space in Manchester where it’s always bloody raining,
Back in the main downstairs bar there are six hand pumps, but five were unused which left Vocation’s Bread & Butter as the lone cask choice. There is a larger premium keg range than upstairs. I found the service to be very friendly, but this is the sort of place I would have enjoyed twenty years ago so I don’t plan a revisit.

As mentioned below there are two entrances to this bar with no particular signage that I noticed, I had mistaken it for the Fierce Bar a few doors up, I stopped for a beer whilst there, four handpumps on the bar but just Vocation Bread And Butter available on cask with a range of very expensive keg options. The music was loud which would be fine if Snoop Dogs your thing, otherwise be warned.

A back street cafe bar with entrances from both front and rear - it's hard to tell which is the scruffier. Any finishing touches the building may have had have been long since stripped away - bare brick was what they wanted, apparently, and bare brick is what they got. The bar, in the front part, is made of recycled timber with a veneer top, and featured tea, cake and nibbles as well as plenty of keg fonts and three sets of two hand pumps. I spotted three real ales and a cider. I went for Arbor Shangri-La, with the also-rans being Thornbridge Jaipur and Vocation Bread & Butter. Those who know me well will appreciate that these are three beers that are definitely not to my taste, but I persevered in a spirit of public service. There's a roof garden, "weather permitting", says the sign, and on the day I was here it didn't. I ventured upstairs to the toilets, which were identified by the single letters M and F on their black doors. The interiors were enlivened by graffiti, which I assume were provided by the interior decorator rather than a gang of spray-can wielding youngsters. Or perhaps...no, surely not.
