I was a bit disappointed to find that the Rugeley Power Station and its cooling towers were demolished in 2021, so the Colliers is now just a sprawling out-of-town pub and carvery next to a Premier Inn and McDonalds. This was the last pub on a recent walk around the town, I arrived at 22:05 to be told that they shut at 22:00 on Sundays. I about faced and made some comment about the website saying 22:30; surprisingly the manageress then took the time to explain that they shut at 22:00, but have no control over the website which is managed by Whitbread. Then she apologised and invited me in for a beer because she was yet to cash up, happy days! Available from the bar counter that runs across a portion of the back wall was standard keg alongside Madri. The two hand pumps were drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar and St Austell’s Tribute, the latter being on good form. To the right of the bar counter is a section of bar seating, but the vast majority of the pub is set aside for dining. I suppose that this is a decent spot if considered as a bar and restaurant for the adjacent Premier Inn, but I don’t think any locals would ever make this a destination for a few beers.

New Table Table pub / restaurant beside a Premier Inn and right in the shadow of the disused Rugeley Power Station. Usual anonymous modern furniture and decor throughout the various seating / dining areas, but there are also some benches out front for the better weather (which definitely wasn't the day I walked here...). Thankfully, though, not only were there two real ales on handpump, but one of these was Tribute (£3.85) as an alternative to Doom Bar.

The Colliers is a new build pub that is in the shadow of Rugeley Power Station.
Once inside there is a large oblong shaped room with the bar facing, the room is divided into different area by walls and the like, the room is carpeted throughout, the seating is normal tables and chairs.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Pedigree which was a decent drink, the other beer was Hobgoblin.
This pub was very quite and seemed a bit depressing in my opinion.
The Stags Leap another new build pub was a lot more light and airy and also very busy, ime not sure what is wrong with this pub but is is not to my liking.
