Alan Winfield left this review about Old Moore's Tavern

The Old Moore's Tavern was a short distance up the road from the Rose of England.
This was a proper old looking pub from the outside, once inside the pub had been opened out into one room which had bare boards and lots of different drinking areas.
The pub was a Whitbread tied house and on my first visit here there were two real ales on the bar with Whitbread Castle Eden bitter being a very nice drink, the other beer was Queens Ale.
The pub changed its name to the Empire in the late 80s but finally closed down during the victoria centre redevelopment scheme, there are now ugly modern buildings on its site.
What a waste of a decent old pub.
