Alan Winfield left this review about The Princess

The Princess was a large looking pub that was situated opposite the Theatre Royal on the corner of market street and upper parliament street.
Once inside the pub was a lot smaller with a single bar running aross the front of the pub, this room was decent enough but lacked in seating.
The pub was an Ind Coope tied house and there were two real ales on the bar with Ind Coope Burton bitter being a decent drink the other beer was Ind Coope bitter.
We visited this pub on odd ocassions but was'nt that impressed with it.
The pub closed down several years ago and it is still standing and is now in other use.
