Blackthorn _ left this review about Industry

One of a number of small bars in converted shop units on the popular Gloucester Road strip, this isn’t actually quite as small as it appears from the outside, opening up at the rear in to a somewhat larger than expected space, as well as a courtyard beer garden.

Décor wise it’s fairly unremarkable with plain whitewashed walls and ceilings, some corrugated iron cladding on the side wall at the front of the pub and a single wooden beam on the ceiling. Slate style tiles were on the floor at the front of the bar, with some sort of wood strip at the rear. Seating in the front part was fairly limited, with a few high stools off to one side, and a couple of high tables in the window at the front. Further back there were more tables and chairs, but the large projector screen showing the cricket spoilt the ambience somewhat. Fortunately the volume was off so this was not too intrusive. A number of sounds absorbing panels had been fixed to the ceiling, and there were a number of unusual light fittings, but again, little else of any note.

The solitary cask ale on was Tribute, although they did also have a couple of craft options from local micro’s, which on this occasion were Wiper & True’s Kaleidoscope and Good Chemistry’s Pure Optimism. Ciders were well represented with Scrumpington Gold’s Hookum and Muddler, Thatcher’s gold and Inch’s Medium Apple. Overall, nothing really wrong with this place, but it’s not somewhere I’d go out of my way to return to either.

Alan Winfield left this review about Halo

Halo is a small bar that has shops either side of it.
Once inside there is a smallish oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, with the bar to the rear right, the room is bare boarded, there is a bench seating and a settee on the right side and normal tables and chairs on the left side, there is also another separate room to the rear which is down one step.
There was one handpump on the bar which turned out to be false,so i ended up with a drink of keg Bath Ales Jem which was a pretty poor drink,if i had known it was a false pump i would have had a drink of keg Bath Ales Darkness.
The bar was empty on my Saturday dinner visit, but there were lots of people coming and going up and down the stairs,so i presume there is a room upstairs.
Nothing special about this place.
