Situated off the side of Loch Lomond and just after the descent off Conic Hill. This is a large pub/restaurant and a lot of money has been spent modernizing the striking exterior - block slate walls, Astroturf and patio garden surrounds. The inside is mainly set for dining but drinkers are well-catered for and welcomed. Wood and stone heavy interior; décor items include lots of grandfather clocks, stuffed animals, stone hearth and general bric-a-brac. Four Scottish ales available from micros; Jaw Brew Drop, Fallen Brewing Dragonfly, Stewart Cascadian and Loch Lomond Silkie Stout. My Stout and Drop were both in excellent nick and served up by genuinely friendly and helpful staff – indeed the whole atmosphere was upbeat both inside and out. I really liked it here and it was a shame we were only halfway through the day’s walking! Apparently has its own brewery but beers not advertised/available?? 8.5

Large pub restaurant which rather dominates this little hamlet at the side of Loch Lomond as it also runs the shop, café, holiday homes etc. Nonetheless is quite splendid and has its own brewery. Inside there are lots of stone walls and many artefacts, pictures and assorted junk which give a cosy, well-established feel. The large bar area is to the front, with a restaurant room and outdoor patio behind. The food is pretty good wholesome fare rather than gastro. Worth a visit (also served by occasional ferry across the loch).
