Alan Winfield left this review about General Gordon

The General Gordon was situated on the corner of london road and queens road and was next to a very busy road junction which eventually lead to the pubs demise.
This was a fairly basic pub inside with a decent sized bar which was basic, when i first went in this pub it was a Whitbread tied house with no real ales on the bar the bitter was the rubbish Whitbread Tankard,in later years the pub started selling keg Bass beers.
This was never one of my favourite Nottingham pubs.
Sadly this pub has been pulled down to make way for a road widening scheme.
