The City Gent is situated at the top end of North Parde.
This is a grand looking building and once inside it is still just has grand with a very ornate ceiling which has four large pillars supporting it
The room is square shaped with the bar facing,it is carpeted and has normal tables and chairs for seating.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Bradford Hockney Pale,which went down very well,the other beer was Ossett Big Red.
The pub was very busy on my late Saturday afternoon visit.
A decent enough pub to have a couple of drinks in.

The beer choice on our visit was mundane, we went for TT Landlord and Ossett Pale Gold. I have to say their ales were well kept and the barmaid was friendly and chatty.
This pub is well worth a visit for its opulent interior, even the enclosed exterior porch, gave you an idea of what to expect internally. Another striking feature I noticed, were the two heavily embellished internal doorways with their neoclassical pediments.

This pub is a converted bank and has an absolutely stunning ceiling. The rest of it isn't bad either, with dark wood all around and two ex offices either side of the bar. Standard dining tables and chairs around the outside of the room and comfy chairs and small tables in the centre. There's a jukebox which seemed a little out of place in here. I almost expected to hear piped chamber music. 4 handpumps on the bar with 2 from Timothy Taylors and 2 from Ossett. The Ossett Nervous Turkey was in good nick. A lovely looking pub, with a pedestrian range of beers. I'll definitely call in again, probably to show Ms CAMRA the place, but it would have scored higher with a better beer range.
