Mild Drinker left this review about The Red Lion

An attractive stone pub which is sadly the only one left in the village. On all of my visits they have had at least one local ale from Potbelly Brewery in nearby Kettering. Crazy Daze and Hedonism have been my particular favourites. They also have a selection not seen in most pubs. Kaltenberg on tap is a decent lager. Prices are reasonable too considering it has no competition in the area. They also have home cooked food which I can confirm is a good standard.

The Red Lion is a large stone built pub, this is now the only pub left open in Broughton.
Once inside the front bar is quite large and oblong in shape, the bar faces, the left side had a couple of tables and chairs, plus a pool table and darts board, the right side had black leather settes and bucket chairs.
There was a larger room to the rear which was more like a lounge, the rear left of this room was set aside for diners.
There was a very good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of J Church Cain and Unabled which was a very well kept beer, the other beers i noted were J Church Gold Testament,Adnams Gunhill,St Austell Tribute,Phipps Radcliffes stout plus two more micro beers.
There were pump clips showing which beers were on on the wall and another row of pump clips showing which beers were going to be on.
This is a nice enough pub with a great choice of real ales,it is a shame that we were the only customers in at about 2.30 on a Saturday dinner visit.
