About a ten minute walk after visiting the Stratford Haven. Had a detailed map drawn courtesy of the local postie at the Stratford, so didn't get lost finding our way. The pub has a large interior and was formerly a British Legion Club. 12 ales on offer, I went for the Lincoln Green Camraderie and Fullers Traitors Gate, both were excellent.

A great addition to the Castle Rock stable. This pub has been specifically re-designed with the community in mind, especially mummies with children. We popped in after a session at the Nottingham beer festival in October and were surprised at the quality of the fit and finish. Loads of good beer on tap and loads of varied food available. BTW, the map is not quite right, the pub is down a short drive from the location shown, but it is sign posted.

The Poppy and Pint is in a very leafy area of West Bridgeford and it is Castle Rocks latest pub to open it is also probably their largest pub,the pub was converted from an old British legion club.
Once inside there was a smallish room to the left which was carpeted and looked like it was set out for diners this room was empty, the main room is very large and long it narrows in the middle and is a lot wider at each end, this room had a fairly low ceiling but the pub still seemed quite airy, the main bars flooring was wood and there were different types of seating but mostly small tables and chairs,i think the far end of the pub was for people with children.
The bar is very long and there were 12 handpumps on it 6 of these beers were from Castle Rock 3 were guest beers from micro brewerys and the other beers were Batemans XB and London Pride one pump was unclipped.
I had a drink of Castle Rock Sherrifs Tipple and this was a really nice drink and at a reasonable price £2.30 the other beers were more expensive and the most expensive was a guest beer called Trawler Boys and this was £2.90.
There is a bowling green to the rear of the pub and tennis courts at the side.
I quite liked this pub and it is a good addition to the West Bridgeford drinking scene.
