Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Folly

Large, modern bar / restaurant with a slightly curved frontage. Mix of furniture, typical of the Drake & Morgan chain, with much of the floor area set aside for dining but still a reasonable number of seats (albeit mostly at annoying high tables) at the Monument end for those just looking for a drink. Quite well lit in a low-key way, drawing the eye away from the industrial ventilation higher up. Slightly surprisingly, two real ales available on handpump: London Pride (£4.50) and Woodfoorde's Wherry.

Pub SignMan left this review about The Folly Bar

This is a large restaurant and bar on Gracechurch Street, close to Monument station. The huge, open plan ground floor area has various different areas, all seemingly set up for diners although there is no problem if you just want to pop in for a drink. The left hand side appears to be the best spot for drinkers, with high tables and stools close to the bar area. To the right there are standard tables and chairs and a few long benches and tables, all set up ready for people to eat. The place feels quite modern and fresh, with pastel shaded walls and floral wallpaper being the mainstays of the interior design which has a vague garden theme, although the ceiling is undressed and has unsightly pipes and wires hanging from it, which seems like a weird thing to do given the care taken elsewhere. A raised mosaic floored cafe-style space can be found at the front under large windows with smart, comfortable lounge seating and a small shop selling foodie stuff. Downstairs is another large room with more comfortable seating and an off-putting jazzy soundtrack – maybe this is where the drinkers are supposed to congregate? The staff seemed very friendly and having stopped here for a bite to eat, we found the service to be nice and quick, although the food itself was a bit hit and miss.
Remarkably, there are two real ales available – Fullers London Pride and Woodforde’s Wherry – but with the latter costing £4.40 for a pint, I can’t imagine too many ale drinkers will be flocking here. There are a few interesting keg options including Meantime and Aspalls cider, but the prices are no better for these either.
This place is all style but very little substance, and what substance there is comes at a very steep price. It’s worth mentioning that they open at weekends, unlike the majority of the surrounding venues, but beyond that I can’t really recommend a visit.
