I parked in the car park next to this establishment this afternoon before checking out the rock pools on the beach below with the kids. There is some savage coastal erosion going on and I’d imagine this small cliff top settlement won’t be standing for much longer, which is a real shame. Anyway, the bar was closed whilst we were here as it is closed Monday thru Wednesday (today being Monday) and the other days of the week there is restricted opening hours that are set to cater for walkers and families with their barnacle hunting offspring. I did have a good peer through the window though and spotted two hand pumps sitting on the bar, one of which was unused and the other had a Harveys Best badge clipped to it. There are also four draught taps that were dispensing Fosters (x2), Guinness and I think Scrumpy. It’s not the biggest place and the décor is nothing to write home about, but there is a fireplace and the seating looked comfortable enough. There are some Picnic tables outside next to the car park that I imagine as being nice on a summer’s day, probably not so good when the wind is blowing though.

Next time I’m rock hopping I’ll try to visit at a time when the doors are open.
